Our Story
Why we built Cue the Moment.
When I started planning my wedding in 2025, I was convinced I could DIY the music.
A playlist, a phone, and someone to press play. Easy enough… right?
Not quite.
I quickly realized most music apps don't let you fade songs in and out, which meant someone would have to manually turn the volume up and down during every special moment. Very glamorous.
So we gave up on the DIY plan, moved money around in the budget (RIP wedding video) and hired a DJ instead.
And honestly? We regret it.
Our DJ did not follow our instructions at all. Some of our must-play songs were skipped. The MC script wasn't followed. Our coordinator had to step in more than once to keep things moving.
After the wedding, I started talking to other couples and heard the same kinds of stories over and over:
- "They played a song from our do-not-play list."
- "They opened the dance floor with the wrong song."
- "They didn't follow the script we gave them."
That's what led me to build Cue the Moment.
